Our meeting in May was at Crook Hall and Gardens on the banks of the River Wear in Durham. Crook Hall is originally a medieval building which has been extended a number of times, the last significant occasion being in the Georgian period. The house is surrounded by gardens with a different charactersin each one. We were there in time for the best of the spring blossoms.
