In August 2023 there was a joint Garden and Local History coach trip to Harewood House. We unfortunately arrived shortly after a major power issue that had a knock-on effect to the timings for the rest of the day but we had an enjoyable day nonetheless. About half the members had booked the house tour in the morning. They were split into two groups and both groups reported later that the tour had been very thorough and they had seen many things of interest. Some of the group had booked the garden tour and, after starting in the parterre at the rear of the building that overlooks open countryside, the group continued to the lowers levels. At various times during the day members could be found walking alongside the pretty lake even if the walk back up the very steep hill was somewhat challenging. We were lucky with the weather as it remained dry and sunny all day.
