We began 2023 by celebrating the new year Spanish style with Cava (fizzy lemonade) and the twelve lucky grapes eaten on the strokes of midnight on New Year’s Eve. We also ate the ‘rascon’ decorated with fruit and nuts.

We revised pronouns and travel by bus and enjoyed looking at la República Dominicana. We discussed the effects of the pandemic on life in Spain, the world and here.

We really enjoyed the story of the mistake made by Spanish rail (Renfe) who spent £227.5 million on trains that are too big to fit in tunnels!! The result was the firing of the CEO and the resignation the transport minister. Dios mio!
