The aims of our group are to understand science, to explore local industries, learn more about their history and development and to find out about new technologies and their applications.
In the past we have visited local factories, including NISSAN, a windfarm, Hartlepool Power Station, Northumbrian Water, Ribblehead Viaduct, the National Glass Centre at Sunderland, and local museums like Bowes Incline and the Discovery Museum in Newcastle. On occasion we also arrange joint visits with other groups, for example, a trip to Scotland to see the Kelpies and Glasgow Transport Museum.
Visits are interspersed with talks given by knowledgeable speakers on related topics
