The aim of the theatre visit group is to give members an enjoyable and broad experience of the various genres of theatrical experience. A number of shows are offered throughout the year and details can be seen on the monthly Town Hall slides.

Our visits take place using local coaches from a central pick up point. We usually visit Newcastle Theatre Royal or Sunderland Empire but have a yearly Christmas visit to The Theatre by the Lake in Keswick for a matinee performance of their family orientated Christmas show.

We advertise our projected visits at monthly meetings and via the website on this page and the the Events page. We ask members to show their interest by signing up and then if we have enough people to make it financially viable we ask for the funds to cover the tickets and travel. We often have to book well in advance of the performance dates in order to secure group bookings of suitable seats.
