The Ark is a new extension to Auckland St Helen Church. It is used for Church events such as Sunday School but is also available for hire.
Tea and coffee facilities with biscuits are available, You make your own and there honesty box for the £1 payment.
The venue is accessible for wheelchairs. There is a unisex toilet with wheelchair accessibility.
A modern TV is wall hung at one end of the room. It has the usual connectivity including HDMI so be used with a laptop for display purposes.
There is a bus-stop on each side of the road served by bus numbers 6, 85, and X-21. The number 6 travels between Durham and Barnard Castle vis Spennymoor, Bishop Auckland, Tindale Crescent, West Auckland, and Staindrop. The number 85 covers a similar route between Bishop Auckland and Barnard Castle. The X-21 travels between West Auckland and Eldon Square in Newcastle with limited stops in Gateshead, Durham, Spennymoor, Bishop Auckland, and Tindale Crescent.
